As an introduction to the module on biological conversion processes, we visited Cler Verts brand-new biogas plant, built last fall by the german company EnviTec. Designed for a nominal annual capacity of 18 000 tons, the plant produces 5 070 MWh of electricity per year (equivalent to the consumption of 950 housefolds) and 5 870 MWh of energy per year. It completes the green solutions already offered by the company:
- solid fuel production from untreated waste wood;
- pretreatment of varnished or painted wood for the manufacture of wood panel;
- compost production from green waste, feathers….

The anaerobic digestor (in the backgroung) and the collecting tank for the liquid digestate (at the forefront). Click here to discover the EnviTec process.

Compost and digestate offer important soil improvements that are mutally beneficial rather than alternatives! Thank you Elodie for the explanation.
