Learning outcomes and skills targeted

Participants gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of biofuel technologies as well as renewable energy and the biomaterial market, proficiency in process design and assessment as well as in the management of complex systems with a circular economy mindset.

The end-of-study internship that can be done in a company or in a public research lab allows interns to further consolidate the knowledge being taught and the skills acquired. During the team project and the 6-month internship, you will acquire the ability to:

  • understand, analyse and manage complex systems
  • think green, preferably with a circular economy mind-set
  • use state of the art, sciences, technology, business model and regulatory aspects to conceive, design and develop processing routes
  • use experimental and numerical methods for process conceptual and detailed design, optimisation and assessment
  • select the appropriate methods or techniques, formulate and test hypotheses, analyze experimental data
  • recommend strategies to meet business and ecological goals
  • undertake socially responsible innovative industrial projects
  • work well with others, across culture and disciplines
  • present convincingly and argue a case in front of an audience
  • write reports, publications and short communications
